If your drawers need a full overhaul or you just want to tidy things up a bit, then let’s get started.
Step One: Empty and Purge
If you think you can just refold your crowded drawers, you’re most likely wrong. In order to organize completely, you need to start with a clean slate. Dump that drawer! You can do it! If you notice you find clothes that are worn out or don’t fit, then you need to purge. If you notice you need certain items of clothing, add them to a list of things to purchase.
Step Two: Theme Your Drawers
Now that you have a clean slate and you purged your space, it’s time to theme your dresser drawers. What does it mean to theme your drawers? Basically, you want to keep similar items in the same drawer so it’s easier to find what you need. If you need some drawer theme ideas, here are a few:
- Bras, underwear, bikinis, socks
- Loungewear, pajamas
- Activewear
- Sweatpants, Sweatshirts,
- Tshirts, tanktops
- Short-sleeved/long-sleeved shirts
Step Three: Find The Right Products To Organize Your Clothes
You did it! If you have followed the first two steps you are ready to find the just right organizing products. Either you can make your own containers out of boxes around your house or you can buy specific drawer organizers. In this organizing project, I bought basic containers.
